Early Feedback: Balance and Fair Play

SplitFund has received its first public reviews. Some criticism highlights real issues that we are already working to improve. Other claims require a clear factual response.

Manual fishing is still more rewarding

The original fixed manual catch-streak limit was reduced. This change was made because the early-game multiplier had become too powerful compared with the rest of the progression system.

However, the limit is not permanently fixed at its starting value. The Persistent Flywheel Depth Legacy upgrade increases the automatic streak limit by 10 for every rank. The manual streak limit is always twice the unlocked automatic limit:

Automation is intended for convenient and consistent idle progression. Manual fishing is intended to provide the better reward for active play.

One player profile reported Fishing Level 3,894 with approximately 1,040 catches and 36 Prestige.

These values cannot be produced through SplitFund’s normal progression and reward calculations. They indicated that the local save data used by the game had been modified to create impossible progression.

The affected entry was therefore hidden from the competitive leaderboard. Modified values cannot be allowed to determine a Top 15 position or a future PlayFund share.

The player was not prevented from playing SplitFund. Only the invalid leaderboard entry was removed, and everyone below it moved up one position according to the same published ranking rules.

This decision was based entirely on impossible statistical values. The player’s review—positive or negative—had no influence on it.

Critical feedback is welcome when it helps us identify something that players cannot understand or use comfortably.

SplitFund will continue publishing its ranking rules, balance changes and leaderboard decisions openly. A competitive season only works when legitimate players can understand the system and trust that impossible progress will not determine the results.
