Still missing Executable

    Not sure why my thread was locked but my files are on the same drive and my editor has nothing in local files when i install and i havent found a single way to fix it online not sure what to do

    yeah i uninstalled whole of steam with the games and when i reinstalled the game THEN the editor, the editor is complaining about "sbox 2129370"

    i'd reccommend creating a symlink or copying the files

    If you go to the file path where the game is installed ie something like "\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\sbox 590830" there is the sbox-dev.exe which opens the editor

    thats just wrong.
    if you open up the editor's game files, it just is "EmptySteamDepot"

    Same issue empty steam depot when i try to launch says there is a missing file.

    Ok. I had same problem, running on linux it didn't generate the .exe files. So I changed s&box to force use proton experimental. this fixed the problem for the missing .exe files. It happily generated missing files then. So I guess native linux support is a bit botched still.

    Now if you are running on windows and this happens. I don't have solution for that.
    Also, while I did manage to get the s&box running, I still have problems with the editor tool.

    Right click the S&box game (not editor)
    Under manage, click Browse local files
    In the same folder, you will see S&box and S&box-dev applications.
    Launch S&box-dev to use the editor.

    I'm sure it is an issue with the install that they will need to resolve. The S&box editor seems to come pre-installed with the game, hence 0b install size. The editor install is likely supposed to point to the installed dev app, but it does not at this time.

    For now, you can manually launch the s&box dev executable (pin it to taskbar for ease).

    If you still want to access it through steam then you can also copy all the s&box game files into the folder path the error tells you.
    You will have to tank the storage space though.

    Like above said ultimately this needs to be fixed by steam. Its not a problem with your pc.

    On Linux I was able to fix this by just symlinking the entire "sbox" folder to "sbox 590830". I imagine you can do the same on Windows?

    FACEPUNCH come on guys????

    Same issue on both linux and windows, fixed it for myself on linux but common, this should be patched quickly.

    My hope for this game is really going down the drain
