Some thoughts on the recent controversies regarding game playfund:
I've seen a lot of people, especially in the discord, starting pitchford mobs to attack games/developers and cherry pick what are high quality and not and berating facepunch devs to take "low quality" (by their standard) games down.
I find this kind of ironic, and specifically when they claim Garry should do something about it. When Garry came out with GMOD, people claimed it was lazy, a ripoff of HL, and was generally a pretty large controversy. Berating Garry to take down games on S&Box, claiming that these games are low quality and do not deserve being in playfund, is probably pretty funny for him to see considering they said the same stuff about Gmod.
Do I think that devs should make high quality games that will look good on homepage? Yes. Do I think we should berate developers that their games are "lowquality" and should be taken off of the playfund because they don't meet the mobs standards? No. -
"Slop" is not the issue, botting your game player count is. If a game looks like slop, but attracts more players because they like, it's fine. Natural player migration or whatever you call it. But bots won't move to a better game because they don't care about games at all and that prevents this migration, basically stealing from still real slop or no slop games.

D: If you're so sure our game is made up of bots, why do they act like real people, and when it's nighttime in Russia, they don't play but sleep?
It would be more logical for bots to be online 24/7 and keep the game constantly at the top. If you think we have bots, then why are there only 5-10 people online at night? It's completely illogical.
Our game has a Russian-speaking community that plays whenever they can. People need to sleep at night, so few people stay in the game. You can track the online activity yourself, checking out the different times of day and night in Russia, and you'll see everything with your own eyes.

You're paying people with s&box items to play your game, basically renting their computational power for % from playfund. Not fo me to decide whether it's allowed or not and how much it actually differs from bot farms.

Nobody is "raising pitchforks" in regards to the subjectivity on games being good or bad. People are complaining about the use of bots and scraping money from the playfund. I feel like half the people jumping in to this discussion either can't read or can't be bothered to read what is being discussed. This post is just moot and serves to shadowbox an argument that isn't being made
