Or want to talk about the Legends or ask Questions about the Game, make a post, within a day it will be fixed.
Legends being a hybrid top down and third person is a nod to the old 1990s style rpg's, while trying to bring the more modernized combat into it's experience. Legends also tries to lean Heavily into the Cutsie cartoon theme while pushing the limits of what sbox can do the Polygons. The world is Procedurally generated one polygon at a time until finally it worked, for me that was the best moment. there is still jank around, but making a world from only polygons and code, without the music and audio the game is under 100mb and houses a 22km map. So the game was never meant to be anything other than a nod to where we are in technology building a 3d game like they used to 30 years ago, still works.
The development concept was a game where you are always 'doin sumfin' as most people in the world like to keep busy and work toward something, legends would give them a multitude of things to do. Every item is scaled to be worth what it should be worth with no imbalances mathematically in the crafting system, save for you can find wood everywhere. Crafting has a focus attribute for lack of better term. but this means that the player cant over craft. focus starts at 100. each skill you have (12) has 100 levels. that means 1200 levels total. a player can reach 1k focus by getting 900 expertise, which is infact 900 crafting levels from any tree. so as you craft more your energy gets bigger, the first hour delivers almost twice the pool of the first hour and you grow, when your focus is down its time to kill things, jump in the dungeon, grind some loot, bring it back to your plot [B] place it, and you'll have a storage chest automatically on it. you can only drop your plot every 5 mins, and only in non pvp zones, you can build crafting tables there or use the crafting guild, your plot has a listing system when you want to sell things, players can go to the auctions house in town and look at all listing and buy from you without interface, you get easy money. your plot comes with workers to pump out boring jobs, there is alot to explain, a very deep complex set of systems wovens as imply as they could be wound.
Legends had been designed like an mmo, or like a ARPG where you never have to leave the starting town or you can sail around the world and explore, explorers find better perks to min max, Legends was made to suit all kinds of players and can hold a bout a hundred connections/players as standard rates, the player spawns twin worlds, that synch enemies bound by radius, so example being the server need not exsist because its a system of a leaderless host that can change hands without anyone knowing, a seamless world.. except for the load lines.. when you take a ship out you will see a ring around an island, that ring is the islands load line the terrain will chunk in, so if your sailing, and your under attack, they denote peaceful borders, if not they denote loading, the clutter only loads upon hitting the shore so the ocean fps will be buttery smooth.
IF you get bad fps, drop veiw down to 180 metres and wait about 2 mins, if it stops its because its too intense, if it continues and you have a good gpu, then copy the game logs and send them here and ill find out what ive done, or missed.
so again if you are trying legends for the first time, head to the crafting guild and pick up some quests, they show you the ropes.. instead of holding tools.. your a legend.. so you store them in your "magic" workbench for each trade, and can harvest freely, the gods thought this better. So behind you when you start is the temple of teleports for lack of a better name, that will take you to emberhold, but do some dungeon levels to get to atleast 5 or 10, which is usually about 1-10 a few times, in doing so you will laod up on supplies, sorry to the reveiwer only having 2 bag slots, man that was an oversight, had i have told him the bag seller is in emberhold, and you can deploy a plot next to the instace to store things, he may have had a better time, so i spent about 9 hours today building patch 1.01. it should meet the needs of the people.. if not let me know keen to give it a tickle.
To sum up legends is a long term game that you can build at and enjoy single player or multiplayer, in the future legends will get more content based on what the people who enjoy its game play suggest we do.
Don't worry i wanted to do so much with it, but as far as a mmoarpg made entirely of simple dev.box polygons and procedurally generated it goes pretty hard. Thank for Readin, and Thanks for Postin
