Anti-Grav

ANTI-GRAV

Every surface is the floor. Every wall is a road. One more round?

An arena shooter set in impossible worlds of floating terraces, boxes and planets. Gravity always pulls toward whatever you're standing on. Slingshot yourself across the void with Anti-Grav, walk up walls and ceilings, and step through portals to the far side of the world. And it's your game, your view: play it first-person or third, fisheye lens and all.

Play alone or together. Single player fills the level with computer players at Easy, Medium or Hard. Multiplayer lets you host a lobby, or join one from a list that shows every open game with its mode and level.

The Hook

Match after match, the world changes what "up" means. You aim, slingshot, land on a different face of the level, and fight from a new angle. When a match ends, it rolls straight into another round, because one more is never enough.

Features

  • Surface-relative gravity. Walk on any face of the world, top, underside or a planet, and your "down" follows.
  • Anti-Grav slingshot. Every press fires instantly, wherever your crosshair is - no aiming or holding needed. Click twice quickly for a speed boost, and while you're already flying, a press steers you at the same speed, with another quick double-click for a second, faster boost. Three speeds in total, always one press away.
  • Portals. Arches with portals take you to the opposite side of the cube. Portals stop gunfire dead.
  • Six weapons. Standard, Rapid, Sniper, Grenade, Cannon, and an Orb you punch with. With Orb, the faster you're moving the harder it hits, go fast enough and you vaporize your target. Scope on Standard, Rapid, and Sniper.
  • Team modes. PvP, VS, and Capture the Flag, with two teams, or three on the Battle Royale levels. No friendly fire.
  • A synthesized soundtrack. The music and all the sound effects are original and built in code.

Modes

  • PvP: everyone against everyone. First to 25 kills, or the most after 8 minutes.
  • VS: team deathmatch. First team to 99 kills, or the most after 8 minutes.
  • Capture the Flag: take the enemy flag back to your own stand. It's 5 captures a round, best of 3 rounds, and a tie goes to a 60-second sudden death.
Capture the Flag Details: each flag stands on its own rocky planet, hung out in the void beyond the level. Carriers can't shoot but keep Anti-Grav, and a compass on the back of your player points to every flag.

Levels

  • Level One: three terraces around an empty void. Up to 12 players.
  • Opposing: a full cube with mirrored halves. Up to 24 players.
  • Boxed: a dense field of boxes from huge to tiny, every face walkable. Up to 24 players.
  • Planets: a few mini planets adrift in the void, each one round and walkable. Up to 24 players.
  • Shattered: one large planet cracked open, its chunks and shards drifted apart around a glowing core. Up to 24 players.
  • Crossways: three long buildings crossing in a pinwheel, with arches down every side. Up to 24 players.
  • Opposing (Battle Royale): the Opposing cube with room for a crowd. Up to 50 players.
  • Cubic (Battle Royale): eight Opposing cubes stacked as one big cube, linked by portals. Up to 100 players.
  • Boxed XL (Battle Royale): a big packed field of boxes. Up to 100 players.

Credits and disclosure

Designed and directed by Incredibility. Built with AI assistance, including the code and the tools that generated the audio. All sound effects and music are procedurally synthesized by scripts in the project; no audio samples and no generative audio models were used. The player model is s&box's Citizen character.

Development Note: Anti-Grav is being actively developed. More levels are on the way, and full VR support is in the works too — one more round is never the last one. Game Jam III: This is a Game Jam III entry. If you play it and enjoy the game, please consider nominating Anti-Grav!
