Initial Release

After working on this map for awhile (probably would have been done sooner if It were not for the various things that kept breaking, oh well my fault for working on this in a Developer Preview) I am finally releasing it for you all to check out and give your thoughts on it!

There are definitely things I still want to iron out, mostly small things like how some decals look, performance tweaks to the lighting (Sam pls give me ddgi), etc. but for the most part I think this is ready for release.

Where Deathmatch???

Now you might be asking "this is a DM map why doesn't it support Deathmatch???" Well that's because Facepunch's Deathmatch game is unfinished and performance absolutely tanks the longer you play on the map, once that's no longer an issue I will ship an update that adds all of the Pickups and proper Deathmatch support.

For now you can just load the map up in something like Walker and look around.

Learning New Things

I explored a couple of the new things you can do with S&box while making this map!

Making map logic for stuff like the tram, sound events, and easter eggs was super easy and actually kinda fun thanks to the Action Graph system!
The Logic for the Tram

I also made my first custom shader using shader graph! It's a simple shader that allows you to overlay an animated static effect over a specific part of the material using a mask texture. I made it purely for an easter egg you can rarely see in the map but I'm sure it will come in handy in the future!

Past and Present

Like I said earlier this map is the spiritual successor to my old map "DM Terminated" so I figured I'd share some comparisons between areas from the original map and what they became in this new one!

Funnily enough the Facility is ruined in the OG map where as it's completely functional (?) in the new map.
